Introduction to Beekeeping Course (theoretical) 19th April 10h30

Are you interested in beekeeping but you don't know where to start? Or are you simply fascinated by bees and want to learn more?

This is not a practical course, but a theoretical one. This course aims to provide an overview of the practice of beekeeping in Quebec and we start really at the base; how bees make honey, how does a beehive work, what is queen's job inside the hive, etc. We dont go into beekeeping details how to manage the hive, we cover the general questions. We also explain what does it take to have bees at your home, what materials you need inside the hive, tools, etc.

This course is only for people that have interest in bees or beekeeping but have zero knowledge and would like to learn more on the subject in order to decide if having your own bees is something that your really want. If you already have beekeeping knowledge or have already reserved/bought a hive for the next season, please take one of beginner's courses instead.

Courses last approximately 2 hours, in a group of 10 to 15 people maximum, directly on our farm 3847 rue Dunant, Sherbrooke.
